Register Now For Lead-Safe, OSHA Construction Safety Classes…
Registration is now ongoing for a one-day lead certification class on Monday, September 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. offered by HCHBA. The cost is $255 for HCHBA members and $300 for nonmembers. Registration and payment must be received by Friday, September 10. An OSHA Construction Safety class will also be offered Thursday and Friday, October 28 and 29. The cost is $25 for HCHBA members and employees and $20 for nonmembers. Both classes will be held at Builders Plaza, located at 755 Highway 105 Bypass in Boone. Last Chance Golf Tournament September 13…
The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 19th annual Last Chance Golf Tournament Monday, September 13, at the Rock Barn Golf and Country Club in Conover. Footsloggers Accepting Old Shoes Through September 13…
Now through September 13, Footsloggers in Boone and Blowing Rock will accept used, clean footwear. Customers trading in their old shoes will receive 20 percent off any new pair of Chaco footwear. Old footwear will be cleaned up and sent to Soles 4 Souls for distribution. Since its inception in 2004, the Chaco Recycle Program has helped nearly 20,000 people. AT&T Expands 3G Mobile Broadband Coverage to Boone, Blowing Rock…
The Boone and Blowing Rock area now has access to 3G service from AT&T. The enhancement provides 3G service to the surrounding neighborhoods from east Blowing Rock along Highway 321 to Boone, extending over the ASU campus and along areas of Highway 105 and east on Highway 421. The sites covering ASU’s campus are also equipped with a second 3G carrier to provide additional capacity to support higher volumes of mobile broadband traffic and provide speeds that are more consistent during peak system usage. The Watauga County Arts Council is now offering Art Placement Service (APS) with the purpose of changing or improving business décor with art by local artists. The program provides artists with a forum for the possible sale of their work and business with attractive décor as well as a positive public image as a supporter of arts in the greater Watauga County area. The art is for sale, but this is a free service to community businesses.
