Byrd Reports Revenue-Neutral Tax Rate
Watauga County Tax Administrator Kelvin Byrd brought his calculations to the Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday night to illustrate how he determined the county’s revenue-neutral tax rate—the rate estimated to produce revenue equal to the revenue that would have been produced by the current tax rate if property values had not changed.
