The president of the Ginn Company and the developer of the 6,000-acre Laurelmor residential development in Watauga and Wilkes counties was present on Tuesday at Leatherwood Stables to announce that his company and the Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust have reached a formal understanding to establish a permanent conservation easement on at least 2,000 acres of Laurelmor property. Govenment officials from both counties and members of several local nonprofit organizations were on hand for the annoucement and a buffet lunch. Ginn told the audience that the development would one day make the development the largest employer in Watauga County. |full story|
