Relay for Life Raises $286,553 in 2006
The final numbers are in. Watauga County Relay for Life ranked number two in its population group for fundraising in 2006,with 88 teams bringing in $286,553 for the American Cancer Society. And while the county did not come out number one this year as it has in the past five, Watauga County won another significant award: the Power of Hope Award in its population group for the highest participation by cancer survivors in the country.
