AppalCART and the ASU motor pool became a bit greener last Friday. Thanks to AppalCART, ASU and the ASU Renewable Energy Initiative (REI), 13 AppalCART buses and a portion of the ASU motor pool began running on B20 biodiesel—an alternative fuel comprised of 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent petroleum diesel. The biodiesel is pumped from a 10,000-gallon tank that the ASU REI installed at the ASU Physical Plant facility off State Farm Road. Members of the ASU REI pose in front of the first AppalCART bus to use the alternative fuel.

Members of the ASU Renewable Energy Initiative cut a ceremonial ribbon symbolizing the switch of 13 AppalCART buses and a portion of the ASU motor pool to biodiesel last Friday.
