The mission of ASU’s Office of Conferences and Institutes is to serve as a one-stop shop for providing quality support services to faculty, students, staff and external clients who develop and implement credit and noncredit educational and recreational programs. Experienced professional staff members work with campus departments to coordinate housing, meals, publicity, registration, financial management, transportation and facilities.
Inquiries from new clients are welcomed. For clients, the staff provides the experience and knowledge to guide them through the planning, implementation and evaluation of a program. The client’s program planner will remain onsite during the program and will work to ensure that details are attended to efficiently and responsively.
All programs are assessed a standard conference fee per person per day that is incorporated into the package cost for campus services and facilities.
ASU offers the use of its main campus facilities during the summer months to internal and external clients who have education as their mission. Clients must be expecting a minimum of 25 people for the event and represent a recognized organization. Public and private schools, religious organizations, Scouts, business and industry, professional associations and 4-H groups are some examples of potential clients.
In addition, Teri Reddick, director of Community Outreach, has initiated an effort focused on offering programs community members would enjoy. Reddick has asked that people call and tell the Office of Conferences and Institutes what they want. “We have lots of ideas, but not everything,” she said. Contact Reddick at 828-262-2530 or reddickct@appstate.edu.
