Green Valley Community Park Reports on

Fundraising Efforts

To keep donors apprised of the impact of their investment, the Green Valley Park Board of Directors has released a report of the results of the 2006 Challenge Campaign that concluded on January 1, 2007.

Aimed at retiring the park’s mortgage, the campaign produced sufficient revenue to reduce the mortgage debt by nearly $142,000:

$178,497.27 Mortgage balance as of January 2006

  - 82,830.00 2006 Challenge Campaign revenue

   -58,617.27 Benevolent gift (anonymous)

$  37,050.00 Mortgage balance as of January 2007

The board was extremely pleased by the show of communitywide support and expresses deepest gratitude to everyone who supported the effort through donations of money, time or resources. Such ongoing support makes Green Valley Park a success in community vision.

The outcome of this campaign provides incentive toward retiring the debt completely. Also, as Green Valley Park’s financial health improves, more donated dollars can be devoted to development of park amenities. At the top of the list of physical improvements are playground equipment, permanent restrooms and additional parking. One very long-range dream is to establish a community center.

With continued support, 2007 can be another remarkable year.
