Cemetery Located on High School Property
Hartley Family Objects to Disinterment

The stone was so heavy, the men had to stop for breaks several times during their trip up the hill. Queen Proposes Split of 24th Judicial District
DA: “A Total Waste of Millions of Dollars of Taxpayer Money”
State Senator Joe Sam Queen, who represents Avery, Haywood, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell and Yancey counties, has introduced a bill to split the 24th Prosecutorial and Judicial District into two districts. District Attorney Jerry Wilson opposes the bill.
