Recently, local charities, community organizations and concerned citizens held benefits to raise awareness and needed funds.
The 2007 Celebrity Serve held on March 27, raised $47,500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The High Country Chefs and Cooks Association’s Salute to High Country Chefs held on March 31, raised $3,100 to be used for continuing education for High Country chefs and cooks and scholarships for local high school students bound for culinary school.
Finally, the recent benefit for the Elk Motel held on April 10, raised $40,300 to be used to upgrade the motel’s sewer system.
