Taylor Potter and Jillian Tenge Win Kidstock
Logo Contest

Planning has begun in earnest for the High Country's annual fun day for children of all ages known as Kidstock. This year marks the fifth anniversary of this spring tradition, and the folks at the two sponsoring agencies, the Western Youth Network and Parent-to-Parent, are busy a hive of bees.

As part of the preparation, the winners of the annual Kidstock logo contest, open to all middle school students in Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties, have been announced. Taylor Potter and Jillian Tenge, eighth grade students at Cranberry Middle School in Avery County, share this year’s prize. Both Taylor and Jillian are active in the school art club and share a strong interest in drawing and design. In addition, Jillian is a member of the basketball and softball teams, while Taylor plays on the football, basketball and baseball teams. They are well-rounded students, make good grades and have broad interests both in school and out of school. Congratulations Taylor and Jillian for being the winners of the logo contest for Kidstock V! Look for their artwork on Kidstock posters soon!

Kidstock V will be held Saturday, May 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Watauga High School. The food and fun for all ages of children, youth and their parents includes Jump! of Boone air walk and giant slide, crafts activities, climbing wall, high school Battle of the Bands and much, much more. All proceeds support the vital work of the Western Youth Network and Parent-to-Parent.
