Boone Family To Feature in Saturday’s Horn in the West
They’ll appear in Horn in the West, and the reason is because he’s a holidaymaker with a difference. His name gives you the clue. Brace Boone III not only has the same name as the town, but he’s also related to the famous frontiersman Daniel Boone. (Full Story)
Feeling Clannish 
Work crews hustled on Tuesday to set up thedozens of clan tents that will circle more than half of the quarter-mile track at the 51st Annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. If the answer is yes, it’s a weighty accusation. But mountains of scientific and empirical evidence indicate that the nicotine-based imidacloprid is affecting honeybees. For instance, 16 European countries have banned the insecticide, blaming it for massive declines in their bee populations. Even though Bayer denies the allegations to a point, the company still has paid out millions—$70 million in France alone—to beekeepers around the world, hoping they will keep their mouths shut.
