Hidden Treasure: Green Valley Community Park
New Playground Dedication August 5
The Green Valley Community Park informally opened its brand new playground on July 16. The Safe Play Company constructed the 70-foot by 47-foot playground area. “All of the equipment is constructed of recycled milk jugs. That may sound like it would be flimsy but it is extremely sturdy,” said Green Valley Community Park Board Member Janice Carroll. (Full Story)
16th Annual Avery Banner Elk Fine Art and Master Craft Festival Saturday and Sunday
The Avery Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce will present the 16th annual Fine Art and Master Craft Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22, on the lawn of Banner Elk Elementary School. Admission to the event is free. (Full Story)
