ASU Hosts 10th Annual Winter Gala This Weekend
Chairmen of the Board Return to Legends Friday

High Country residents and students will have two nights full of fun, food and entertainment as ASU hosts the 10th annual Winter Wonderland Gala this Thursday and Friday, February 21 and 22.
A High Country tradition for the last decade, the Winter Wonderland Gala provides a chance for folks to dress up and enjoy a night out on the town with discounted dinner at a number of area establishments followed by hours of dancing at Legends on the campus of ASU.
On Thursday, legendary hypnotist and nationally known entertainer Jim Wand will return to Boone and get the Gala rolling at Legends with his show, Jim Wand: After Dark. In addition to making several appearances at ASU, Wand has appeared on numerous TV programs including a national FOX special entitled WOW, The Sally Show and The Judge Joe Brown Show. Viewers have also seen him on the Discovery Channel, Comedy Central and he has appeared numerous times on FOX, ABC, NBC and CBS. Wand’s Gala appearance is for mature audiences.
Tickets for Wand are $3 for students in advance and $5 for students and guests at the door. The show will start at 9:00 p.m.
On Friday, February 22, the one and only Chairmen of the Board will return to Legends to get the Gala’s annual semi-formal party dancing. According to Legends Manager Randy Kelly, the band is the “number one beach music band in the world.” The Chairmen of the Board will be playing a non-stop set packed with shagging soul classics throughout the evening.
Tickets for the Chairmen of the Board are $7 in advance for students and $10 for students and guests at the door. The show will start at 9:00 p.m.
Those who purchase tickets in advance at the Student Union information desk for Winter Wonderland Gala events will receive a special coupon redeemable at Casa Rustica, Pepper’s and Red Onion Café. The coupon allows diners who buy one dinner entrée at regular price to purchase a second entrée of equal or lesser value for half price.
Online orders will include the coupon in the printout. Patrons must present their Gala ticket and coupon or their online ticket order confirmation to receive the offer.
