Blowing Rock Easter Egg Hunt and Festival March 8

Story by Anna Oakes

Easter falls pretty early this year—March 23—and the Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation Department already has plans for its annual Easter egg hunt. The Blowing Rock Easter Egg Hunt and Festival will take place on Saturday, March 8, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The festivities begin in the Recreation Center, located on Park Avenue next to the tennis courts in Memorial Park. There, children can enjoy games and prizes, activities, a coloring contest and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Appalachian State University recreation management students are helping plan and coordinate the games.

The Easter egg hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial Park. Parks and Recreation staff will hide more than 1,000 eggs. The child who gathers the most eggs will win a grand prize.

Each child participant will receive a bag of candy when they leave the event.

The egg hunt and festival will take place rain or shine. For more information, call 828-295-5222.
