Story by Anna Oakes
Easter falls pretty early on the calendar this year, but it’s doubtful that kids will let cool weather or high winds dissuade them from hunting for Easter eggs.
Easter-themed festivities in Watauga and Avery counties include more than just egg hunts, though; kids will enjoy sports and games, storytelling, food and prizes at the various events in the area.
Downtown Boone Easter Eggs-Stravaganza Saturday
The annual Downtown Boone Easter Eggs-Stravaganza, presented by the Downtown Boone Development Association, Watauga Public Library, Jones House Community Center and Watauga County Arts Council, will take place Saturday, March 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Watauga Public Library.
The event features crafts, face painting, balloon art, the Egg Hop Game with chances to win a golden egg, a visit from the Easter Bunny and storytelling by Lisa Baldwin. Because Easter falls so early this spring, this year’s event will not include an outdoor Easter egg hunt.
