Great EGG-spectations
More than 100 local children and parents enjoyed some Easter fun and games at the Watauga County Library last Saturday at the Downtown Boone Easter Egg-stravaganza, the town's annual Easter celebration coordinated by the Downtown Boone Development Association. Many local children, including the egg hop contestant on the left, couldn't help but ogle the baskets and baskets of brightly colored Easter eggs that served as prizes for the many games set up around the library. During the event, children enjoyed storytelling by Lisa Baldwin, Easter crafts, balloon art, visits with the Easter Bunny, face painting and the egg hop game - a game similar to musical chairs. Shelter Business Spotlights of 2007
Story by Sam Calhoun
The High Country—or any community for that matter—is defined by its local business people. Whether born and raised here or from out of town, these entrepreneurial spirits believe in the area so much that they have decided to meld, share and align their business passions with the everyday goings-on of the region.
