Unsuspecting patrons dining or drinking at Blowing Rock’s Canyons restaurant this Saturday night, March 22, may find themselves the unsuspecting stars of an episode of UNC-TV’s North Carolina Weekend show as the crew turns their cameras on one of the High Country’s most popular nightspots.
North Carolina Weekend host Deborah Holt will visit various locations throughout Blowing Rock on Saturday, filming local nightlife and live music for an upcoming “After Dark” segment of her popular show. According to Canyons owner Bart Conway, Brown and company will film the lively bar scene, interview the kitchen staff and film portions of the evening’s entertainment.
Every episode of the magazine-style series explores historical sites, events, music, movies, the arts, sports, food and other leisure activities around the state, connecting with fascinating stories behind the state's most beloved annual festivals and historic locales.

“It’s a thrill for all of us to have Deborah and UNC-TV here, and quite a compliment to Blowing Rock to be featured statewide on North Carolina Weekend,” said Blowing Rock Tourism Development Authority executive director Tracy Brown in a press release. “North Carolina Weekend will love the hospitality, food and fun that Bart and his crew are famous for and the view is like no other. I’m sure Blowing Rock will shine as a great place for nightlife and a fantastic weekend getaway.”
