Call to Horticultural Growers
Participate in the Daniel Boone Native Gardens Plant Sale April 26
The Daniel Boone Native Gardens is putting out a call to horticultural growers of the High Country, inviting them to participate in the gardens’ upcoming Early Bird Wildflower Walk and Plant Sale that will be held rain or shine on Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Growers who participate can set up between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. on the day of the sale and chose among three locations: the parking lot near the gatehouse entrance, the access road through the gardens and the “wedding lawn” inside the gardens.
Plants do not have to be native species, but the sale organizers ask that growers bring only locally raised plant material for the sale. Trees and shrubs, wildflowers, vegetable flats and perennials are all welcome.
The Early Bird Wildflower Walk and Plant Sale is a one-day fundraising event for the Daniel Boone Native Gardens and a great opportunity for local growers to connect with customers early in the season and show off their locally grown horticultural stock.
At the end of the day, a contribution of 20 percent of gross sales is requested as a contribution to the Daniel Boone Native Gardens in exchange for a tax-deductible receipt.
