Relay For Life 2008 Team Fundraisers

Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.

Watauga County's Relay For Life's 90+ teams are scheduling their team fundraisers to raise money for the American Cancer Society, culminating in the Relay For Life event at Watauga High School on Friday, June 20. All proceeds from these fundraisers benefit the American Cancer Society. For more info about any of the events, call the committee chair or team captain. Saturday, April 26—Spring Fever 5K Road Race: Greenway Trail, 8:30 a.m. Registration fees are $15 prior to Tuesday, April 15, and $20 after April 15; family rate is available. Cash awards and prizes will be available for winners. All preregistered participants will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt; race-day entries will receive a T-shirt based on availability. Saturday, May 3—Painting Pots: Boone Drug at Deerfield, lower parking lot, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., $15 per pot. Bring your kids to Boone Drug at Deerfield to paint flowerpots. These homemade beauties make great gifts for Mother’s Day. The team will plant flowers in the pots and have them available for pickup on Friday, May 9. Ongoing Fundraisers

Luminaria Sales: Purchase a luminaria for $10 each in honor or in memory of someone with cancer. Luminaria will be lit all night June 20 at Watauga County’s Relay For Life at Watauga High School. Forms are available from any team member or from the Luminaria Chair Kathy Idol, 828-264-5240.
