Coach Moore Draws a Crowd
Local stars shone brightly in restaurants in Boone and Blowing Rock on Tuesday night as diners came out to support the 3rd Annual Celebrity Serve fundraiser, raising thousands of dollars for the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. At Makoto's Japenese Steakhouse, Coach Jerry Moore, other ASU coaches and members of the Mountaineer football team autographed magazines, footballs and everything else that came their way . An autographed ASU-Michigan game ball from last season's colossal upset fetched $10,000 from winning bidder Ron Phelps. Together with teh $10,685 raised through sales and tips, Makoto's contribution alone topped $20,000. Here, Coach Moore signs copies of the most recent issue of High Country Magazine.
