Lees-McRae Offers Electronics Recycling
in Avery County April 17

The fourth annual Lees-McRae College Mountain Day of Service will be held on Thursday, April 17, and the college has organized an electronics recycling project that will take place in the Williams Gym parking lot on Hickory Nut Gap Road in Banner Elk between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Synergy Recycling, LLC, an ISO 14001 certified company, will pick up any obsolete electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, circuit boards, monitors, telecommunications equipment, networking equipment, consumer electronics, components—in fact anything with an electric cord, except televisions.

Computer hard drives will be destroyed so information on those drives will not be accessible. More than 99 percent of the electronics will be recycled.

Lees-McRae invites the community to take this opportunity to dispose of redundant electronics and ensure they don’t have a negative impact on the environment by going to our already overflowing landfills.

Each year for the Mountain Day of Service, students, faculty and staff of the college donate their time to be of service to the college and greater community.
