The Envirothon Program is a natural resource educational program for high school and middle school students. It is an outdoor-oriented program in which students work together in teams of five, learn to use critical thinking skills, develop problem-solving solutions to enhance communication and increase their observation skills to answer written questions or to conduct hands-on investigations about natural resources and environmental issues. The program focuses on five areas of study: aquatic resources, forest resources, soils/land use, wildlife resources and current environmental issues.

The Watauga Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors this program, in addition to other educational programs and competitions. Call Donna Harmon at 828-264-0842 for more information.
