Big Turnout, Big Wins in Primary Races
Prior to Tuesday’s primary, the Charlotte Observer predicted that up to 2 million North Carolinians would cast ballots in the election, representing a voter turnout of 34 percent. That prediction was spot on. (Full Story)
Watauga County Proposes Economic Incentives for Tweetsie - Public Hearing Scheduled for May 20
The Watauga County Board of Commissioners and the county’s Tourism Development Authority have proposed an economic development incentives partnership with Tweetsie Railroad to keep the theme park in the county. The proposal includes purchasing an interest in Tweetsie land and providing an annual marketing subsidy. (Full Story)
