Sixth Annual Adult Services Expo at Boone Mall May 20

The sixth annual Adult Services Expo will be held Tuesday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Boone Mall.

The purpose of the expo is to help educate the community about available services, to identify and address needed unavailable services and to develop a networking system for citizens and agencies in the community. This year, the Adult Services Coalition will distribute information on a program to protect and locate missing persons who wander as a result of Alzheimer’s, autism and other developmental disorders.

Approximately 30 agencies will participate in the expo.

This event is held under the auspices of the Adult Services Coalition of Watauga County. The coalition is made up of public, private, nonprofit and for-profit agencies that assist older adults in the county.

At noon, Mayor Loretta Clawson will present the Celebration of Living awards. These awards include Caregiver of the Year, Centurion of the Year, Facility Resident of the Year, Individual with Disabilities of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
