Excellence in Speaking Workshop September 10 to 12

Have you ever wished that you could communicate more effectively with employees, co-workers, or customers? The Watauga County Economic Development Commission and the Watauga Committee of 100 are co-sponsoring Ty Boyd Executive Learning Systems, Excellence in Speaking Institute.

Ty Boyd, former WBT and WBTV personality, will conduct a three-day workshop for up to 14 attendees. Ty Boyd Executive Learning Systems has helped thousands of executives in more than 40 countries become far more confident and effective speakers.

This intensive workshop will be held Wednesday to Friday, September 10 to 12, 2008 at the Appalachian Enterprise Center in Boone. The cost of the workshop is $2,000 per participant, and the fee includes all materials, breakfast and lunch. The training will start daily at 8:00 a.m. and finish by 6:00 p.m. on September 10 and 11. On September 12, the course will end by 2:00 p.m.

During the course participants will deliver 15 to 18 videotaped presentations that Boyd and peers in the workshop will analyze to help each participant enhance and hone his/her communication skills. Each participant will also receive individualized coaching from Boyd himself on the most effective way to communicate with others. Not only will participants learn the tools necessary for effective communication, but they will also learn the skills essential to teaching others.
