Elk Park Street Fair June 14
Story by Anna Oakes
Consolidate your yard-saling and antique shopping at the annual Elk Park Street Fair, taking place Saturday, June 14, beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Main Street in Elk Park.
The event attracts a variety of vendors, peddling everything from used clothing to antiques to flowers. And if you get hungry, at least one booth will feature a bake sale. In addition, musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments to join in on a jam session.
“It’s just an annual event that has become well known to the area,” said Jane Smith, coordinator of the event.
Typically, more than 30 vendors bring used goods and products to sell, Smith said. The event lasts throughout the morning, with vendors usually packing up around 1:00 p.m.
If you want to sell some items or have a closet or garage in need of cleaning out, you can set up a booth at the Elk Park Street Fair—no preregistration is required. Vendors receive a 4- by 8-foot space for a $5 fee. However, all vendors must bring their own tables and must arrive on the evening of Friday, June 13, to set up. An officer will be on duty at the Street Fair at all times. No vendors will be allowed to set up on Saturday morning.
The rain date for the Street Fair is scheduled for Saturday, June 21. For more information, call 828-733-9573 or 828-737-9070.
