Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Brown Resign From First Baptist Church of Boone

Couple Will Begin An International Ministry

Joy BrownDr. Wayne Brown has served as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Boone since June 1, 2003. He and his wife Joy have resigned from their pastorate in Boone to answer God’s call to expand their ministry for global outreach with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Known as Diversified Ministries of Wayne and Joy Brown, the subtitle is BRIDGE, an acronym for Building Relationships Individually Domestically Globally Evangelistically.

The primary goals of this ministry are as follows:

1. To increase missions’ awareness through organizing short-term mission trips around the nation and throughout the world and through networking with individuals, corporations, businesses, churches and other ministries to help meet missions’ needs
2. To provide general evangelism through revivals, crusades, conferences, retreats and seminars
3. To encourage ministers/missionaries and their families through conferences and retreats
4. To produce Christian literature and music through books, pamphlets, magazines, compact discs and web materials
The Browns will conclude their ministry at First Baptist Church of Boone on July 31, 2008.

The public is cordially invited to worship with them for their concluding services this Sunday, July 27, at 8:45 a.m. in the amphitheatre of Horn in the West and at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 375 West King Street (on the corner of King Street and College Street) in downtown Boone and on Wednesday, July 30, at 6:00 p.m. following a farewell fellowship meal at 5:00 p.m. downstairs in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church.
