Town of Boone To Appeal Templeton Decision
On Tuesday, the Town of Boone issued a press release announcing the town council’s intention to appeal Judge Ronald Payne’s decision that the Boone Board of Adjustment erred in denying a special use permit to local businessman Phil Templeton to convert a church on State Farm Road into a medical clinic. Boone Begins Bond Referendum Process for Water Upgrades: Town Proposes To Issue $25 Million in General Obligation Bonds To Finance Project
The Boone Town Council will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, to vote on a resolution authorizing the town’s finance director to apply to the Local Government Commission for approval of a $25 million issue of general obligation bonds. (Full Story)

See Them Fly: Blowing Rock Stage Presents Peter Pan—Run Extended To August 9!
No, you’re not seeing things. Peter Pan and the Darling children are really flying through the air at the Hayes Performing Arts Center, where the Blowing Rock Stage Company is staging the classic play now through Saturday, August 9.
Performance times are 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. (Full Story)
