Daniel Boone Documentary Filming in Boone in September
Daniel Boone in North Carolina will be filming in Boone and in Rowan and Davie counties Thursday through Saturday, September 4 through 6. And the documentary’s host—Darby Hinton, who played Israel Boone for 6 years in the popular TV series Daniel Boone—will be at the Daniel Boone Days festival in Boone on Saturday, September 6.
The segment being filmed in North Carolina is one of three parts of a series, Footsteps of Daniel Boone, that gives a detailed look at the history, the locations and what the known Boone sites look like today. Part one focuses on North Carolina, part two on in Kentucky and part three on Missouri.
In the documentary, the legends, the myths, the realities are uncovered on a modern-day journey to see where Boone lived his everyday life while forging a path that changed the face of the nation.
Hinton’s father was a North Carolina native and the actor grew up on television having Daniel Boone for a father, so he brings a fun and unique perspective as he follows Boone’s paths through North Carolina.
Since his role on the Daniel Boone TV series—the show aired from September 24, 1964 to September 10, 1970—Hinton has maintained a strong presence in the television, movie, entertainment and motivational fields. He is a member of the SAG/AFTR Young Performers Committee, an active member of A Minor Consideration and on the advisory committee to Looking Ahead, all geared to helping the creative youth of today experience the best of life while helping them avoid the pitfalls that have plagued young artists of the past and present.
The producers of Daniel Boone in North Carolina invite you to throw out all the old concepts of history and travel shows as they take reality programming in a whole new direction. They promise to slide down a few mountains, fall out of some boats, trek through the wilderness, get cozy with some critters, make music and have a good time as they explore Daniel Boone in North Carolina.
