Red Cross Offers Classes in January

The Watauga County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering a number of classes in January at the Red Cross Office at 331 Queen Street in Boone. The registration deadline for the first two classes is Friday, January 16. For more information on any of these offerings or to sign up, call 828-264-8226.

Community CPR/First Aid

Dates: Tuesday and Thursday, January 20 and 22
Time: 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Cost: $45 for all/$35 for CPR only/$25 for first aid only
Description/Notes: Students will learn adult, child and infant CPR and adult and child AED and first aid. The class size minimum is 4 and the maximum is 12. Preregistration and prepayment are required, and the registration deadline is Friday, January 16.

CPR/First Aid Recertification

Date: Thursday, January 22
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $35 for both/$20 for CPR only/$15 for first aid only
Description/Notes: This class is designed for those whose CPR/first aid certification is current but about to expire or has expired within the last 12 months. Participants will receive a brief review, take the written test and demonstrate skills to become recertified. The class size minimum is 4 and the maximum is 12. Preregistration and prepayment are required, and the registration deadline is Friday, January 16.
