Watauga Arts Council Hosts Artfull Palette at Hayes Center Friday
Fundraising Event Features Local Talent and Fine Cuisine
This Friday, January 16, the Watauga Arts Council will roll out the red carpet for the Artfull Palette, an evening designed to nourish the body and the senses with delightful performances, fine food, a silent auction and raffle and good company. The local talent showcase, one of the nonprofit’s biggest annual fundraising events, will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Mariam and Robert Hayes Performing Arts Center in Blowing Rock.
In the event of inclement weather, Artfull Palette will be moved to Saturday, January 17.
The first hour of the evening will be a chance to visit with friends, bid on a variety of silent auction items and have a chance to buy a raffle ticket for an original piece of art, as well as enjoy fine food provided by Bistro Roca and Restaurant G at Gideon Ridge. A cash wine and beer bar will also be available.
Guests will then move into the auditorium where MTN’s Bill Fisher will serve as emcee, announcing the eclectic lineup of local performers including mountain musician and songwriter Nathan Taylor, sibling duo Kauner and Olivia Michael as Johnny and June Carter Cash, classical pianist Baron Fenwick and Watauga High School Jazz Band under the direction of Timothy Walker.
The evening will conclude in the Hayes Center lobby with a slice of cake and a cup of Espresso News coffee. The cake is donated and served by Jo Ann Hallmark.
Admission is $45 for one and $80 for couples. To make your reservations with a credit card, call Watauga Arts Council at 828-264-1789. Purchase tickets at the Jones House Community Center in downtown Boone or from any Watauga Arts Council board member.
