Watauga High School Hosts Parent Nights for Next Year’s Freshman Class
Watauga High School will host Parent Information Nights for rising freshmen—this year’s eighth graders—and their parents in the auditorium at the high school this month. Parent Information Night will help students and parents learn about opportunities and expectations at the high school, including information about class schedules and bus transportation, as well as some of the names and faces they will want to know at the high school.
The date families should attend Parent Information Night depends on the school their eighth grader attends:
• Thursday, January 22, for families with students at Blowing Rock and Parkway
• Tuesday, January 27, for families of students at Bethel, Hardin Park and Mabel
• Thursday, January 29, for families of students enrolled at Cove Creek, Green Valley and Valle Crucis.
For all nights, the program is scheduled to run from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Following the presentation, parents will be offered a tour of the building and will be given an opportunity to schedule a registration session with their child’s counselor at their current school.
If schools are closed for snow on any of the above dates, that evening’s Parent Information Night will be postponed to the same time on Tuesday, February 3.
Rising ninth graders and their parents will also want to mark their calendars for freshman orientation at the high school on Wednesday, August 5, one week before the first day of school on August 12. More details about freshman orientation will be mailed to families in June.
