Student Composers Recital February 25
A student recital on Wednesday, February 25, features compositions inspired by ASU’s Darwin Bicentennial celebration. The recital begins at 8:00 p.m. in Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.

“The students were challenged to write pieces that had some kind of involvement or use of the Darwin theory,” said Scott Meister, a professor in the Hayes School of Music. “The compositions include works for full wind ensemble, a piano, and a small choir that will simulate sounds Darwin may have heard on his expeditions.”

The first place winner will receive a $250 award. Second- and third-place winners each will receive $125. Three members of the music faculty will judge the compositions.
