The Watauga County Community Foundation is one of 59 affiliates of the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF). WCCF is a nonprofit, publicly supported philanthropic institution that manages a pool of charitable funds whose income is used to benefit Watauga County in grants to nonprofit organizations, educational programs and scholarships. Some funds are restricted by their donors to specific purposes or agencies, while others are donor advised and are not part of the grant cycle. However, together these funds reflect the diverse charitable interests of our community and enable WCCF to respond to a wide variety of organizations and programs.

The NCCF is the single statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and was created 21 years ago to build capacity through philanthropy. The NCCF sustains nearly 1,000 endowment funds established to provide long-term support of a broad range of community needs, nonprofit organizations and scholarships. The NCCF partners with 59 affiliate foundations to provide local resource allocation and community assistance in 65 counties across the state, with an emphasis on rural and underserved areas.
