Conference Looks At World Through Women’s Eyes
Joan Cedrone, Southern Regional Director of women’s apparel retailer Talbots, Inc., will give the keynote address at this year’s Women’s Leadership Conference, which takes place at ASU on Saturday, March 21.
Speaker Cedrone received her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Arizona in 1989 and has been moving up the ladder in Talbots since 1990.
The theme of the conference is Through Her Eyes: A Global Perspective. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. and the event is open to all, said Lisa-Michelle Brower, programming coordinator of the event.
The discussion topics include: Involvement – Green/Environmentalism/Sustainability; Independence – Political/Business/Women in Power; Identity – Diversity (Race/Sexuality/Religion); Interaction - Exploring Relationships between Men and Women. Three discussion sessions, each with four separate discussion groups occurring simultaneously on the above themes, will also take place.
The conference concludes with a dinner and ceremony for the annual Women of Influence Awards. These awards recognize women who “work diligently and with great compassion to improve the lives of their friends, their co-workers, and their organizations.”
