Parkway Craft Center Now Open For 58th Season
Parkway Craft Center is now open for its 58th season at Moses Cone Manor on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
On March 15, Parkway Craft Center, located at Milepost 294 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, opened its doors for its 58th season at Moses Cone Manor.
Parkway Craft Center is one of five shops of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and features work from more than 300 Southern Appalachian craftspeople.
Work on display includes clay, glass, leather, fiber, jewelry, wood, natural materials, paper and metal.
The Southern Highland Craft Guild is a nonprofit, educational organization established in 1930 to bring together the crafts and craftspeople of the Southern Highlands for the benefit of shared resources, education, marketing and conservation.
Visitors to the Parkway Craft Center are invited to visit the surrounding Moses Cone Memorial Park. With 3600 acres of unique mountain terrain and the Manor House, the park provides a wide variety of activities at no cost to the public.
The Moses Cone Manor house, completed in 1901, is heralded as an impressive piece of period architecture. The walk down the steps provides a view of Bass Lake and the surrounding mountains. The combination of the architecture, landscape and the regional crafts available at Parkway Craft Center offer something for everyone.
The entrance to Parkway Craft Center is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 294, between the entrances at Highway 321 and Highway 221.
Parkway Craft Center is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
