Boone Service League’s Annual Fashion Show April 4
Boone Service League, an organization that exists to “provide individual development and leadership experience for women and to promote community service,” will host its annual spring fundraiser on Saturday, April 4. The Boone Service League Fashion Show & Silent Auction takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Inn at Crestwood in Blowing Rock. Tickets cost $35 for individuals and $60 for couples and are available for purchase at www.booneserviceleague.org or from any Boone Service League member.
The activities include a fashion show, live and silent auctions and a raffle. Many items will be auctioned off from local businesses, such as gift certificates, vacations and other services.
Summer trends will be the focus of this year’s fashion show, with clothing from stores including Belk, Mast General Store, South’s Clothiers, Suddenly Showing and Our Place worn by local citizens, including Mayor Loretta Clawson. Buzz Berry, the host of local game show Sqrambled Scuares, will emcee the show.
Proceeds benefit the Boone Service League’s scholarships for students from middle school to rising college freshmen. The money also goes to support local nonprofit organizations such as the Department of Social Services Foster Child Program, Habitat for Humanity, OASIS, Parents as Teachers, The Children’s Playhouse and others.
Event sponsors include Belk, Tanger Outlets, Inn at Crestwood, Deer Valley Racquet Club, ASU Athletics, Bob Caldwell Photography, Barry Green Photography, Jonathan Burton Photography, Arbonne International, Red Onion, Katie Langley Photography and Green Mother Goods.
