Funky French Fusion Trio Mörglbl Returns to Blowing Rock April 17 and 18

Band Will Play Two Shows and Host Three Instrumental Clinics

Furiously funky French fusion power trio Mörglbl will bring their blazing blend of funk, metal and jazz back to Blowing Rock for a pair of show at Canyons on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18. Each band member will also host an instrumental clinic at The Inn at Crestwood.

Forget about the British Invasion, the French are coming!

After their successful show last year at Canyons in Blowing Rock, virtuosic French power trio Mörglbl are headed back to the High Country to kick off their six-week national tour next week with a pair of shows and a trio of clinics.

Mörglbl will play at Canyons on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and April 18. The shows will start at 10:00 p.m. and there is a $5 cover charge.
All Mörglbl music will be available for purchase at the shows including Grötesk, Toons Tunes, which is a re-release of the original two albums plus new bonus tracks. The band’s latest album, Jazz for the Deaf, will be released in June through www.lasercd.com.

An incredibly tight threesome, Mörglbl lays down lightning-fast funk grooves, shred-heavy six-string pyrotechnics and fat-bottomed rock grooves with unpredictable changes and head-bobbing rhythms. Incorporating elements of Prince, Primus, Steve Vai and Pantera, the band has dropped jaws around the world.

In addition to their live shows, each member of the band will participate in a series of master clinics at the Inn at Crestwood. On Wednesday, April 15, guitarist Christophe Godin will host his Kartoon Guitar Clinic from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a percussion clinic with drummer Aurélien Ouzoulias on Thursday, April 16, and a bass clinic with bassist Ivan Rougny on Friday, April 17. Each clinic will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

All classes are approximately two hours. To keep the setting friendly and intimate, class space is limited, but spots are still available. Interested parties can reserve a space by emailing bluemouth@comcast.net. The clinics are $25 per person for the public and $10 per person for registered ASU students.
