It’s Not Too Late To Volunteer at MerleFest, Applications Due April 17
With people tightening their purse strings because of the sluggish economy, there’s no better time to save your cash and get into MerleFest for free by volunteering!
According to the MerleFest website, volunteer shifts are still available for Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25. Applicants may work either of these two days and receive a Festival pass for the day(s) worked. Since no shifts are available on Thursday and Sunday, applicants may choose to work double shifts on Friday and Saturday and therefore receive passes for all four days.
MerleFest volunteers must be 18 years old, fill out an application and attach a recent photo. Volunteers must also be conscientious, energetic, courteous and polite.
You may apply online or request a volunteer application by mail by contacting the volunteer coordinator at 336-838-6264 or by emailing merlefest.volunteer@wilkescc.edu.
Volunteer applications will be taken through Friday, April 17. First time volunteers are required to send a recent photograph and pay a refundable $35 deposit before the application will be processed. Please mail your photo and $35 check to: MerleFest, Attention: Volunteer Coordinator, PO Box 120, Wilkesboro, NC 28697. After all volunteer shifts are successfully completed, the deposit will be returned to the volunteer at Flattop’s Getaway.
