Second Caregivers Charity Trivia Challenge April 25

The High Country Caregiver Foundation (HCCF) will host its semi-annual Trivia Night Challenge at the La Quinta Inn in Boone on Saturday, April 25, at 6:00 p.m.

HCCF is a nonprofit organization that offers Avery and Watauga caregivers support and relief. HCCF met and exceeded its financial goal last year and will seek to raise the bar even higher this year with fundraising efforts in both Watauga and Avery counties. The charity has serviced more that 41 caregivers with respite care.

“Last year’s Trivia Challenge was a tremendous success for the foundation and we predict this fun-filled event will be even bigger than the first one. We are asking community members, businesses, civic clubs and individuals to help us in supporting these caregivers by participating,” said Brenda Reece, HCCF executive director.

Back by popular demand, Buzz Berry, host of local game show “Sqrambled Scuares,” and MTN-TV host Bill “Fish” Fisher will emcee the event.

“The trivia challenge will be an exciting evening where teams can match wits to earn prizes and bragging rights,” Reece said. The admission fee of $20 includes prizes for each round, food, soft drinks and plenty of laughs.

At the reception at 6:00 p.m., guests can purchase raffle tickets, enjoy their food and meet this year’s sponsors and hosts. A cash bar will be available for wine and beer purchases. Trivia begins at 7:00 p.m. Teams of 5 to 10 players will be quizzed on a variety of general knowledge subjects.
