Todd Community Dance This Friday at Todd Mercantile
This Friday, April 10, the Watauga Arts Council will sponsor the Todd Community Dance at Todd Mercantile. The dance will kick off at 7:00 p.m. with a special half-hour kid’s dance devoted to the event’s youngest attendees before getting rolling for adults at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the dance is $5 for adults and free for children under 12.
According to Watauga Arts Council Folklorist Mark Freed, Jesse Edgerton will call the dance and local band the Hot Boiled Peanuts featuring Emily Schaad will provide live music. The Todd Mahal Bakery will provide baked goods at the dance.
The next Todd Community Dance will take place on Saturday, May 10, and will feature caller Dudley Culp, an original member of the Green Grass Cloggers.
