Thanks to consistent and sometimes heavy rains throughout the last week, hills and valleys throughout the High Country have become increasingly blanketed in a sea of dark green, while water levels in area rivers and streams inch higher. Unfortunately, the rains haven’t fully rescued the area from the prolonged drought that has gripped much of North Carolina for more than two years.
