Savory Thymes To Host Italian Master Artisans, Vietri Founder Susan Gravely May 22


Susan Gravely, founder of Vietri, America’s largest importer of handcrafted Italian ceramics, glassware and more, will be at Savory Thymes in Boone along with Vietri Factory President Franco Ammannati and Sales Manager Gabriele Socci for a special event celebrating Italian artistry on Friday, May 22.
Enjoy live music, children’s activities, food, fun and sunshine in lush, wide open spaces this Saturday, May 16, as Green Valley Park hosts the 3rd annual Mountain Valleyfest. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. There is a $2 parking fee for all attendees.
Mountain Valleyfest is sponsored by Mountain Pathways Montessori School, Green Valley Park, Mast General Store and Tynecastle Builders.
Live music will take place throughout Saturday’s event. Bands slated to appear at Mountain Valleyfest event include Folk and Dagger (11:00 a.m.), Lost Faculties (noon), The Forget-Me-Nots (1:00 p.m.), Amantha Mill (2:00 p.m.), Surefire (3:00 p.m.) and Echo Park (4:00 p.m.).
There will be plenty of activities to keep young festivalgoers busy. For those wanting to run and jump, inflatables including the Moonwalk and giant slide will be on hand, as well as an obstacle course and climbing wall. There will also be face painting, balloon animals, the Dora toss, arts and crafts, Myrtle the Turtle and children’s games.
For shoppers who can’t get enough crafts, a vast array of local crafters will be peddling their wares at the park on Saturday.
Food will be provided at Mountain Valleyfest by local restaurants including Makoto’s Japanese Steakhouse, CiCi’s Pizza and Earth Fare. Barbeque, cotton candy, popcorn and other food will also be for sale at the event.
Raffle tickets will also be for sale at Mountain Valleyfest for $1. Prizes include family passes to Tweetsie Railroad, Ski Beech lift tickets, Richard Tumbleston prints and more.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event.
