The all day event will feature live bluegrass from an array of regional performers. This Saturday, May 16, local bluegrass gospel quintet Southern Accent will host the 8th Annual Fellowship Celebration at Cove Creek Elementary School. The free event, which will last from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., is open to the public and features several talented musical acts, including bluegrass gospel, old-time, folk and traditional gospel.
Starting out as a CD release party in 2002, Southern Accent’s Fellowship Celebration has served as the band’s way to give something back to the people and communities who have supported the band throughout their 16-year career.
In addition to two performances by Southern Accent, the Fellowship Celebration will feature performances by the The Dishman Family, The Harmon Family, Crossties, Naomi & The Homefolks, Familiar Ground, Leftover Bluegrass and Gaining Ground.
The Fellowship Celebration is an indoor event and will be held rain or shine. Donations will be accepted to help offset the cost of the event. No coolers or alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the premises. Lunch will be served at noon and supper will be served at 4:00 p.m.
Cove Creek Elementary School is handicap accessible. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the event. The school is a non-smoking facility.
