Renewable Energy Workshop Series Begins Friday at ASU
A series of workshops focusing on renewable energy will be held through September at ASU.
The Western North Carolina Renewable Energy Initiative (WNCREI), an Appalachian State University Energy Center (ASUEC) project dedicated to helping create a sustainable energy future, offers the workshops. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Entry Level Photovoltaic Course will be offered on May 22 to 24 and 29 to 31 in Harper Hall on campus. The course offered over two weekends focuses on the key competencies addressed in the NABCEP Entry Level PV certification test, which will be given the last day of the workshop.
The workshop costs $750 for nonstudents and $375 for students.
Other workshops are Photovoltaics with Sharp Solar on June 5; Community-Scale Biodiesel Production on June 19 and 20; Micro-Hydro on July 17 and 18; a weeklong NABCEP Entry Level PV Course from July 27 to 31; Solar Thermal/Solar Water Heating on August 22; Photovoltaics and the National Electrical Code on August 26; Small Scale Wind Energy on September 12; and Solar Thermal/Solar Water Heating on September 26 and 27.
