Summer Craft Enrichment Classes at ASU Begin May 26
Register now for summer workshops offered through the Michael R. Patricelli Craft Enrichment Program at ASU.
The classes begin after Memorial Day and provide hands-on experience with many forms of arts and crafts for both students and community members. Unless otherwise noted, classes typically meet once a week for 2 to 2.5 hours.
Pottery: Individual Study with Instruction begins Tuesday, May 26, at 10:00 a.m. and runs for 10 weeks. Weaving with Jane Plaughter, Drawing Techniques I and II and Figure Drawing all begin Tuesday, May 26, at 6:00 p.m. and run for eight weeks.
Pots with Personality is an eight-week course designed for beginners to find their inner potter that starts Wednesday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m.
The brand-new Jewelry Making with Precious Metal Clay and Dream Image as Art classes begin Monday, June 1, at 6:00 p.m.
Old favorites, Beginning and Intermediate Pottery also both start on Monday, June 1, at 6:00 p.m.
Digital Photography class begins Tuesday, June 2, at 6:00 p.m. and is designed as an eight-week introductory course. It requires students to provide their own digital camera and storage media.
Beginning and Advanced Jewelry classes begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, and run for eight weeks.
For those who missed the first round of pottery offerings or had schedule conflicts, a second Intermediate Pottery course begins Tuesday, June 9, at 6:00 p.m. and a second Beginning Pottery starts Thursday, June 11, at 6:00 p.m.
Glass Fusing and Slumping begins Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. and Mosaics for the Garden begins Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 a.m.
Paper Basket Making and Basket Making classes run for five consecutive days—from Monday, June 22, to Friday, June 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
Advanced Glass Fusing and Slumping begins Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. and runs for four weeks.
