Watauga Relay For Life Weekly Fundraiser Update

From now until the Watauga Relay For Life event in June, local Relay teams will continue to host a variety of fundraisers throughout Watauga County. Help support cancer research and treatment here in the High Country by patronizing any one of the many local events.

Relay Store, Cove Creek School
May 11 to 22
From Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 22, Team Cove Creek Relay Raiders will operate the Relay Store at Cove Creek School. For more info, call 828-297-2781.

Chicken Barbeque, Laurel Springs Baptist Church
Friday, May 22
On Friday, May 22, Team Friends For Life will host a chicken barbeque at the Laurel Springs Baptist Church fellowship hall on Highway 421 in Deep Gap from 11:00 a.m. until. The cost is a $10 donation per plate and includes 1/2 chicken, slaw, beans, roll, dessert and drink. Eat at Pepper’s and Support Relay

On Friday, May 22, enjoy a meal with friends at Pepper’s Restaurant in Boone from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 10 percent of your purchases will be donated to Relay For Life. Shag Dance Lessons, Deerfield United Methodist Church

On Saturday, May 22 and 29, the Deerfield Dream Team will host shag dance lessons at the Deerfield United Methodist Church fellowship hall from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. each night. The cost is $25 per couple (covers both nights). The lessons are limited to 20 couples. Team captains are Jeannie Caviness and Karen Hastings. Celebration of Hope Fundraising Reception, Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living

On Thursday, May 28, at 5:00 p.m., Team Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living Program will host the Celebration of Hope Fundraising Reception, followed by heavy hors d-oeuvres. The event will raise money by recognizing residents who have survived cancer and remembering those who have passed away. Donations will be accepted. Luminaria Sales
Purchase a luminaria for $10 in honor or in memory of someone with cancer. Luminaria will be lit all night on June 20 at Watauga County’s Relay For Life at Watauga High School. Relay Team Jenkins is raffling a weekend getaway in Blowing Rock.
