Watauga Relay For Life Weekly Fundraiser Update

From now until the Watauga Relay For Life event in June, local Relay teams will continue to host a variety of fundraisers throughout Watauga County. Help support cancer research and treatment here in the High Country by patronizing any one of the many local events.

Celebration of Hope Fundraising Reception, Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living
Thursday, May 28
On Thursday, May 28, at 5:00 p.m., Team Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living Program will host the Celebration of Hope Fundraising Reception, followed by heavy hors d-oeuvres. The event will raise money by recognizing residents who have survived cancer and remembering those who have passed away. Donations will be accepted. Fish & Chicken Dinner, Howard’s Creek Baptist Church

Hardin Park Volleyball Tournament, Cove Creek School Gym
Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30
On Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30, Team Hardin Park HoPe will host a volleyball tournament at the Cove Creek School gym. Games will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, May 31, Team Friends For Life will host a praise sing at Laurel Springs Baptist Church at 6:00 p.m. The church is located on Highway 421 in Deep Gap. The Rumple Rockers Relay for Life team will host a yard sale and hotdog lunch at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Blowing Rock on Saturday, June 6. Topless Car Wash & Bake Sale, RBC Bank

On Saturday, June 6, Team RBC Bank Leaping Leos will host a “topless” car wash and bake sale at RBC Bank’s Boone Mall Branch from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The cost is $10 per car. Purple and pink wooden roses will be sold at Relay For Life. The roses are 50 cents each or a dozen for $5. The sale is sponsored by Team Watauga High Hustlers. Luminaria Sales
Purchase a luminaria for $10 in honor or in memory of someone with cancer. Luminaria will be lit all night on June 20 at Watauga County’s Relay For Life at Watauga High School. Relay Team Jenkins is raffling a weekend getaway in Blowing Rock. The prize includes three nights in a Jenkins Rentals home, dinner for two at The Best Cellar and two tickets to the Blowing Rock Stage Companyís production of Lost Highway, the Story of Hank Williams.
