Feature Photo: All Aboard for Thomas

Thomas the Tank Engine has enjoyed a “very loyal following” since the story’s inception in 1940, said Tweetsie owner Chris Robbins. “Both boys and girls love Thomas,” he said, adding that they are drawn to the characters and uplifting message.
To the delight of hundreds of children, Thomas comes to the station for 10 days every summer, usually in early June. This Sunday, June 14 will mark the end of the ninth season of “A Day Out with Thomas” at Tweetsie Railroad. In addition to the train ride with Thomas, children can enjoy the Imagination Station, featuring live storytelling, Thomas games, videos, coloring sheets and temporary tattoos, plus all of the usual Tweetsie attractions. Tickets are still available for this weekend, although they are rapidly selling out for Saturday. Photo by Ken Ketchie
