All aboard! Don’t miss the chance to meet Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer and her cousin Diego when they visit fans for a fun-filled three-day weekend at Tweetsie Railroad on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 26, 27 and 28. The popular stars of the hit animated preschool series, Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go!, will meet, greet and pose for pictures with Tweetsie visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout the weekend.

Dora is a seven-year-old Latina heroine, whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests. Diego Marquez, Dora’s cousin, is an eight-year-old action-adventure hero who loves nature and animals. Dora and Diego explore their world just as preschoolers do everyday, and their television shows actively engage audiences to use a variety of learning techniques.

North Carolina’s first theme park offers these special meet-and-greets in addition to the daily offering of Wild West family fun, including meeting cowboys in an Old West town, exciting amusement rides, lively shows and of course, a ride into the days of the frontier on a train pulled by the famed steam-powered Tweetsie locomotive. Families also enjoy the Deer Park zoo, Miner’s Mountain and live entertainment for all ages including the famed Diamond Lil’s Can-Can Revue in the Tweetsie Palace Saloon.

The park is open seven days a week until August 23, and from August 28 through November 1 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, including Labor Day Monday. The park’s regular hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but will remain open until 9:00 p.m. on July 4. Daily admission is $30 for adults and $22 for children ages 3 through 12. Children 2 and under are admitted free. Print-at-home tickets are available by clicking to www.tweetsie.com.
